The Carao
It is a magnificent tree. There are many on the finca. Growing from southern Mexico to South America, it is one of the native trees of Costa Rica. It is an imposing perennial tree, more than 20 meters high, certain sometimes reaching 30 meters.
The Carao is called Pink Shower because of its shades of pastel pink flowers. Its edible fruit has been used for many years as home remedies. It is used to make Carao honey or honey from Carao as you may see in some stores.
It is said to be beneficial for people suffering from anemia. In addition, it helps the digestive system as it has a cleansing, diuretic and stimulating effect as a laxative. Some say it helps increase energy and stamina and even boosts the immune system to defend against a cold and the flu
Costa Rica is punctuated by two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season, more or less marked by the region. Here we are in tropical dry, which means: - The dry season is from December to April. The landscape is dry, and resembles the savannah. The trees no longer have leaves, but beautiful flowers. There is no water. It is quite hot and the sun is shining. The nights offer superb starry skies. - The rainy season begins in May until the end of November. Our rivers and waterfalls get full. The landscape offers all shades of green, and everything grows. Nature is flourishing, wild. It is cooler, it rains in the evenings or on certain days. Boots are recommended.
Each season transforms the landscape and its resulting experience.
